Experience the city of Mosaic (Madaba), and visit the famous old mosaic map of the holy land, also have the opportunity to stop at Mount Nebo, where Moses stood one day, to see the promised land!
You will be picked up from Queen Alia International Airport by your driver in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Your driver will transfer you to Madaba, city of Mosaic, Madaba has many churches from the Byzantine time, but with this tour you will see the most famous ones, as your time is limited. You will start by Sain George Church to see it’s famous map, which is part of a floor mosaic in the early Byzantine church. The Madaba Map is a map of the Middle East. Part of it contains the oldest surviving original cartographic depiction of the Holy Land and especially Jerusalem. It dates to the 6th century AD.
Then drive to Mount Nebo to visit the Monastery there, mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the Holy Land and, to the north, a more limited one of the valley of the River Jordan. The West Bank city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. According to Christian tradition, Moses was buried on the mountain, although his place of burial is not specified.(Deuteronomy 34:6) Some Islamic traditions also stated the same.
You will have lunch before your driver transfer you back to Queen Alia International airport.
